Pantero Mobility establishes itself in France and affirms its Franco-Canadian identity
It all started with a bold idea: to innovate in public transport to meet the challenges of global urbanisation. This vision, born between Montreal and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, is now taking on a new dimension with the creation of Pantero Mobility SAS, based in Lyon, at the heart of a region renowned for its industrial and technological dynamism.
This strategic choice is based on the strength of Lyon's industrial base, renowned for its expertise in industrial vehicles and cutting-edge technologies. By joining the CARA mobility cluster at the same time, Pantero is affirming its ambition to become a committed player in the collaborative ecosystem of sustainable mobility innovation.
Founded in Montréal by three partners, two of whom are French nationals, and with strong Franco-Canadian roots, Pantero has maintained close ties with France (collaborators and industrial ecosystem) since its inception. It was in the AURA region that the first discussions and ideas behind our Roadtram technology emerged, at the convergence between the bus and the tram.
The creation of Pantero Mobility in France as a sister company of Pantero Mobility in Canada formalises this dual identity. Lyon will thus become a centrepiece of our strategic plan, the headquarters for the European operations we wish to develop, with the ambition of serving as a springboard for international projects. In the next stages of our development in Lyon, we plan to develop an "R&D and Prototyping" team with the support of the regional ecosystem. In the longer term, as our business plan evolves, the objective is to develop manufacturing activities there.
As an emerging engineering and R&D company, our mission is to offer solutions that shape the future of public transport and address global challenges. Faced with rapid urbanisation and the climate emergency, Pantero offers a pragmatic response: maximising the impact of every euro invested in medium-capacity public transport infrastructure. The development of our Roadtram technology aims to accelerate the transition to a more accessible and efficient form of sustainable mobility.
